About
Born 1991, currently living in South West England.
My work predominantly focuses on portraiture & the human figure, describing these complex forms using large bold marks in a sparing fashion, giving enough detail for the sitter to come through, but leaving other areas feeling almost abstract.
The physical and fluid nature of paint itself is what really excites me about painting, seeing how the marks converge and melt in to one another is endlessly fascinating to me.
In my paintings I am trying to create an essence of a person, or a moment in time, rather than a specific story or concept, leaving the piece open for the viewer to interpret. This is something that I love particularly about figurative and portraiture work; its ability to take on a personality of its own.
